Eagles: Devonta Smith continues the adventure for $75 million

Young receiver Devonta Smith has just signed a three-year extension with the Eagles. The prize for him is a nice jackpot of $75 million.

Devonta Smith and the Eagles have the perfect romance. According to ESPN, the Philadelphia team has just extended one of its favorite receivers for three additional years. Thus, Smith is expected to remain in Pennsylvania until 2028.

The young player selected in the first round of the 2021 draft is about to begin his 4th season with Philly. Still under rookie contract, his team exercised its option for a fifth year, to which three units must therefore be added.

Smith, a consistent player since arriving in 2021

So, at the end of the 2025 season, Smith will receive a nice salary of $25 million. In total, this three-year extension is worth $75 million, $51 million of which is guaranteed. A logical extension, although early, for the Eagles who want to perpetuate their duo of receivers.

This signing is in line with other important transactions made during this offseason. We can cite the extension of guard Landon Dickerson or tackle Jordan Mailata to secure an attack which really needs to redress the situation.

Although AJ Brown remains the biggest name on the Eagles' receiving end, Smith has been one of the most consistent players at his position since entering the league. The former Heisman out of Alabama returned a copy of 64 catches for 916 yards and 5 touchdowns during his rookie season. He approached 1,200 yards the following season before surpassing the 1,000 yard mark again in 2023, with seven completions to boot.
