Just before the playoffs, Bojan Bogdanovic preheats

Since joining the Knicks in the Evan Fournier trade, Bojan Bogdanovic's performance has clearly been inconsistent. From one night to the next, he could go from 4 points scored to 20 with random shooting percentages. In mid-March, the winger was clearly in difficulty since he had only reached 10 points once in 8 games. This is mainly due to his lack of appetite for defense, and we know that it is important for Tom Thibodeau.

Since then, Bogdanovic seems to have found his place in the Knicks collective. Since March 25, he has reached the 12-point mark six times with solid shooting percentages. Over his last 10 matches, the Croatian has shot 52%, including 39% from 3-point range. Last night, he confirmed this good period in the victory against the Celtics. It was he who was at the origin of the first “run”, whether by attacking the circle or by returning shots in the corner.

“I remained confident, even with a lot of ups and downs with the Knicks”, says Bogdanovic. “I feel more comfortable in my role at the moment. There was a bit of an adjustment because it's not the same. I've been a starter for 10 years, but before the playoffs, I hope I will start playing much better and maintain my level. »

A timely integration

The Croatian is not the only one who did not doubt his abilities and the success of his integration into the Big Apple. His trainer, Tom Thibodeau, welcomes the recent form of its luxury replacement.

“We know he put his shots in throughout his career. In the last 10 games, he is over 50%. He has a good rhythm » notes the Knicks coach about his winter recruit. “He scores in different ways: 'catch and shoot', in penetration, transition and in the post. I think his teammates are starting to get a good understanding of what he does well, and that's going to help him as well. He has good rhythm. »

Bogdanovic's recent performances coincide with the Knicks' rise in the standings. With two games remaining in the regular season, they are 3rd in the Eastern Conference, and they still have a small chance of grabbing 2nd place, still held by the Cavaliers.
