Season over for Bilal Coulibaly!

As announced in a press release from its franchisewe will not see again Bilal Coulibaly this season in the NBA. Having fallen badly on Saturday evening during a defeat in Chicago where he accumulated 15 points and 8 rebounds in 30 minutes, the Frenchman suffered a fracture in his right wrist which will deprive him of the last month of competition.

Washington adds that the problem will be treated in a “conservative” manner, meaning that there will be no operation.

It remains bad news for the French rear/winger, even though he had already had to miss three games at the end of February, after a nasty fall against Cleveland, and he could see his responsibilities increase among the Wizardsduring these four weeks without challenges ahead for the players of the capital.

Candidate for a place in one of the two All-Rookie Teams at the end of the season and selected for the Rising Stars Challenge alongside Victor Wembanyama, Bilal Coulibaly will therefore have averaged 8.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 27 minutes (44% shooting, 35% 3-pointers, 70% free throws) for his first year in the NBA, generally interesting. By playing 63 matches, for 15 starts, in the collective doldrums of Washington (11 wins – 57 losses, 15th and last place in the East and even in the NBA).

From the point of view of the French team, we must now hope that the 19-year-old winger recovers fairly quickly, since the Blues are counting on him for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. himself really wants to participate, as he said in our columns last December.
