Tristan Vukcevic to join the Wizards for the end of the season

The timing may be surprising, but Tristan Vukcević will perform well in the NBA for the last month of the regular season. Interior Partizan Belgrade will leave Serbia, thanks to a clause allowing it to cross the Atlantic. The rights to Tristan Vukcevic belong to the Wizards, who drafted him a few months ago.

The president of Partizan announced it himself on X, formerly Twitter. “ Our first team player, Tristan Vukcevic, has activated his buyout clause and will continue his career in the NBA » wrote Ostoja Mijailovic. “ The seven-figure compensation will be split between Real Madrid and Partizan, according to a previous agreement. » The Serbian club then clarified in a statement that it was indeed the Wizards who paid the clause, beforeAdrian Wojnarowski only confirms that the 2m13 player has signed for two years with Washington.

Tristan Vukcevic was left at the disposal of Partizan after being selected as the 42nd choice in the last Draft. He took part in the Summer League with the Wizards, showing interest with 11.8 points and 6.5 rebounds but a certain clumsiness. The 21-year-old seems to have corrected his situation since then with 44.0% from 3-point range in the Adriatic League on more than three and a half attempts per game. He averaged 10.9 points and 3.6 rebounds in this competition since the start of the season, but had very little responsibility in the Euroleague, with 9.4 minutes of play (4.2 points, 2.3 rebounds) in 12 appearances out of the 28 games played by the formation of Belgrade.

He could take the place in the squad of RJ Hampton – passed by the Nuggets, the Magic, then the Heat at the start of the season – whose ten-day contract expired on Tuesday.
