Alperen Sengun will probably not play again for the season

Two days after his nasty left leg injury against the Kings, we still know a little more about the state of health ofAlperen Sengun.

So, then that ESPN reported that he suffered a bone bruise to his knee and a severely sprained ankle, The Athletic now adds that it is more precisely a grade III sprain and that his absence will be measured in weeks, likely preventing him from playing again in 2023/24.

The end of the regular season being set for April 14 and the Rockets being already quite far from the Top 10 (five games behind), it therefore seems unlikely to see the Turkish interior in uniform within a month, because his team would have no reason to rush its resumption, without the possibility of playoffs.

Aged only 21, Alperen Sengun should therefore see his third (and best) year in the league come to a brutal end. Author of 21.1 points, 9.3 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.2 interceptions on average, in 33 minutes and over 63 games, all at 54% shooting (including 30% at 3-points) and 69% on free throws, he was at the gates of the All-Star Game this winter.

In his wake, Houston has progressed collectively compared to the last financial year and we can't wait to see what “Alpi” and the Texan franchise have in store for us for this 2024/25 campaign, which promises to be pivotal.
