Packers part ways with Aaron Jones

Barely an hour after the announcement of Josh Jacobs' arrival in Green Bay, ESPN reports that the Packers will terminate Aaron Jones' contract. The hopes of seeing a duo of runners of this caliber playing together will therefore not last long.

Discussions had been taking place for several days between the two parties for a downward modification of the running back's contract. The announcement of the end of Jones' green and gold adventure is surely synonymous with a failure of negotiations.

Image of the franchise, the 29-year-old player has been playing in Wisconsin since his debut in 2017. Seven seasons where the runner drafted in the 5th round has established himself as one of the most complete but also prolific runners in the league. As gifted in the air as on the ground, Jones has accumulated more than 8,000 yards and 63 touchdowns. Just that.

The arrival of Jacobs is not a sporting step backwards, but the departure of Jones certainly leaves a huge void in the game and the hearts of Green Bay supporters. The Athletic announces that the player already has courtiers. He should therefore quickly bounce back and find a new jersey.
