Taj Gibson joins former Knicks to Pistons

We thought we would find him for the umpteenth time at the Knicks and finally Taj Gibson will bring his experience to Detroit. He will not be disoriented since he will find Evan Fournier and Quentin Grimes there, exchanged on the evening of the “trade deadline” for Alec Burks and Bojan Bogdanovic. It will be for a first contract of 10 days, and like all players who sign “ 10-day contract“, Gibson will aim for three contracts in a row, since this will be synonymous with a fixed-term contract until the end of the season.

Favorite of Tom Thibodeau whom he knew in Chicago, Minnesota and New York, Gibson had played 16 games for the Knicks this season, to lend a helping hand after the injury to Mitchell Robinson. In Detroit, he will play the “big brothers” after the departures of Danilo Gallinari and Mike Muscala, but it is not certain that he plays a lot since the team is armored under the panels with Jalen Duren, Isaiah Stewart and James Wiseman.

At almost 39 years old, the former Bulls and Wolves interior player is perhaps starting his last experience in the NBA before, perhaps, starting a career as an assistant. In New York, Thibodeau has already reserved a place for him on his staff.
