The bad patch continues for JC Jackson. The cornerback was cut by the Patriots this Friday according to ESPN. The franchise confirmed the information overnight. This move will save New England $14 million in payroll.
Selected in the 2nd All Pro team in 2021, and playmaker of the Patriots defense with 17 interceptions in 2 years, Jackson had signed a solid gold contract with the Chargers during the 2022 offseason. But between major injury and declining level , and with the label of industrial accident for the LA franchise, he was returned to sender last October for a modest 7th round. A return home which did not really awaken the old instincts of the 28-year-old player.
In 10 matches in 2023, he recorded a meager record of 28 tackles, one interception and 6 passes defended.
