Lakers offer Harry Giles another chance

Here it is again Harry Giles in the NBA, a month after his departure from Brooklyn at the time of the trade deadline. Cut by the New York franchise, he had not been re-signed since, but THE Lakers just recruited him thanks to a “ two-way contract“.

To make this signing possible, the “Purple & Gold” parted ways with Dylan Windler. In his place, it is therefore the 20th choice of the 2017 Draft which is tested, with the aim of strengthening the Californian interior sector, hit by injuries to Jarred Vanderbilt, Christian Wood and Colin Castleton. Only Anthony Davis and Jaxson Hayes are on their feet today in the racket of Los Angelespossibly with LeBron James and Rui Hachimura in a “small ball” configuration.

Having passed through the Kings, the Blazers then the Nets, after two years away from the league, Harry Giles averaged 5.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists during his career, marred by knee injuries. This season, he averaged 3.4 points and 1.6 rebounds in Brooklyn, where he managed to obtain a guaranteed contract, without however managing to establish himself in Jacque Vaughn's rotation.

Two-way contract : Designed to create a new bridge between the NBA and the G-League, this type of contract allows each team to secure the services of two or three additional players, to develop them mainly in their affiliated development league franchise but also up to 50 matches in the NBA.
