Broken hand for Russell Westbrook

For his reunion with the Wizards, Russell Westbrook probably imagined something other than a left hand injury, and more precisely a fracture! Exactly the same as Scottie Barnes's.

Occurring at the start of the second quarter, on an attempted interception in front of Jordan Poole, this injury will undoubtedly force the 2017 MVP to stay away from the courts for a few weeks. Potentially calling into question his availability for the start of the playoffs, set for April 20.

Ready for the playoffs?

That's in about six weeks, which is usually what it takes to recover from such an injury. In 2014, we remember in any case that “Brodie” had missed four weeks of competition after breaking his right hand.

In the absence of Russell Westbrook, who became a substitute at Los Angeles this season (for almost 11 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 1 interception on average), it is Bones Hyland who could reintegrate James Harden's relay rotation. By the time the 35-year-old leader returns, the Clippers (38-20) will try to stay in the Top 4 in the West to benefit from home advantage in the first round of the playoffs.
