Draymond Green doesn't understand why Grant Williams insists on playing tough

It was yet another action in the last seconds of an already concluded match that heated things up. The seconds are ticking in this meeting between the Warriors and the Hornets and Lester Quinones tries to score. Miles Bridges tries to block the shot and shows his displeasure.

The two men warm up and Grant Williams attacks the Golden State player. An attitude denounced at length by Draymond Green in a press conference, which first started with the spark.

“He should probably calm down and stop playing tough.”

“I don’t understand why people get angry when someone scores at the end of the match”, asks himself inside the Warriors. “It’s this unspoken rule that drives everyone crazy. If they won by 13 points, would they have been affected by this move? I doubt. It's a sore loser thing. »

The four-time champion, however, does not decide to attack his ” little brother “ Miles Bridges, but to the new Hornets player. And, as is often the case when it comes to speaking, he doesn't hold back.

“Grant Williams needs to stop. He can't continue to act tough. It doesn't suit him. He's a really good guy and for some reason he keeps wanting to put on that face. And I have to say, it's not always pleasant, nor the right time. He must correct himself. Talking too much is what drove him away from Dallas, and it continues here. He should probably calm down and stop being tough. »

The two men will meet again on March 29

Draymond Green here refers to articles which explained that the behavior of Williams – first vice-president of the players' union – annoyed the Texan franchise, which therefore decided to part with him after having recruited him last summer.

“He wants to be president of the players’ union, so he can’t do stuff like that,” continues Warriors player. “We don’t see CJ McCollum (the current president) play tough. Chris Paul was, being president, but he’s 6’3”. You have to be tough to impose yourself with such size. I don't know what he does. He looks for everyone this year, comes to our bench, thinking he has a friend there. There's no one here for you. Go talk to your guys. We are on the Quinones side. »

And Draymond Green concludes, with a big smile: “Ah yes, pray for Grant Williams. » There is no doubt that the meeting has been made between the two men since they will meet on March 29, in Charlotte.
