Édouard Julien speaks like a veteran

Asked about the next season of his team, the Minnesota Twins, Quebecer Édouard Julien wants to be reassuring and he speaks with confidence like a veteran of several seasons in the Majors.

According to him, the Twins are of a caliber to compete with the best teams in major league baseball and last season proved it.

In 2023, the Twins finished first in their division and eliminated the Toronto Blue Jays in two games before losing to the Houston Astros in the next round.

According to Julien, this playoff run has proven that the team has grown and is showing great potential in anticipation of the new season which is upon us. The Twins have been able to maintain their core and if all the key elements of the lineup remain healthy, the 2024 season will be promising.

Obviously, the Detroit Tigers and the Cleveland Guardians will be in the Twins' rearview mirror, but they will force Rocco Baldelli's squad to play competitive baseball every day.

Édouard Julien will begin his first real season in Minnesota, having experienced a few recalls from the minor leagues last year. Knowing that he is part of the team's plans from day one makes all the difference, because he can visualize his progression with both feet in the Majors and not dreaming of being there.

It's by working alongside talented players that you become better and Julien has understood this for a long time. By working very hard to stay with the team in 2023, he proved to his coach and his teammates that they could count on him during the best and worst times.

The Twins have matured in 2023 and great things should happen next season. Julien is convinced that the team's veterans can propel the team to new heights and that the affiliate network is generously made up of players ready to make the jump and help the Minnesota team when the time comes.

By making the playoffs in 2023, the Twins have proven things to themselves and they will go from there to build their confidence knowing they can compete with the best.

Aged 24, the Quebec native thinks and speaks like a veteran of several seasons. He will be called upon to play several roles with the Twins in 2024 and baseball fans in La Belle province will enjoy his performances throughout the season.

The fact that Julien was the spark plug for the Canadian team at the last World Baseball Classic certainly played a role in giving him a good dose of confidence and pride.

The man who should start the season at second cushion and occupy the position of first hitter for the Twins is confident heading into the 2024 season and he is right to be, because his team should once again carve out a place in the playoffs. And who knows what happens next.

  • Yariel Rodriguez is in Dunedin.
  • Several struggles to watch at Blue Jays camp.
  • What will the Mets do with Ronald Acuna Jr.'s brother?
  • Several teams wanted Ji-Man Choi. The Mets ultimately signed him to a minors contract.
