Steelers: It's over for Mitchell Trubisky

2 lackluster seasons for a former Draft number 2 looking for a second wind.

The Steelers have decided to terminate Mitchell Trubisky's contract effective immediately, according to NFL Network.

Selected number 2 in the 2017 Draft, the former Bears quarterback signed a 2-year contract with the Steelers until 2025 last offseason. After 2 seasons in the Steelers jersey, he is free and looking for a new team.

2 wins only

Trubisky will not leave Pittsburgh fans with fond memories. In 2022, he started well by obtaining the starting position ahead of rookie (at the time) Kenny Pickett. 4 mediocre games later, he will give up his place to the rookie.

In 2023, when Pickett was injured, he returned to his place, but produced two new disappointing performances. Mason Rudolph will take over, and will end up qualifying the Steelers for the playoffs.

During his career in Pittsburgh, Mitchell Trubisky played 12 games, for only 2 victories as a starter. His statistical record is disappointing, with 63% of complete passes, 1884 yards, 12 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

In addition to Trubisky, the Steelers terminate the contracts of two other players: Pressley Harvin III (P), and Chukwuma Okorafor (OL)
