Marlins: the only team not to have signed a major free agent this winter

Last year, the Marlins had a great team on the field. The club, led by Skip Schumaker, even managed to make the playoffs.

DG Kim Ng had been excellent for a few years… but wanting to add a president over his head forced him out.

Result? The club is starting from scratch by changing a formula that worked very well.

Peter Bendix, who has arrived as president, evaluates his team. He also doesn't have the budget for the year, which forces him to stay quiet.

But there is peace and quiet.

As Ken Rosenthal points out, the 29 other MLB teams signed at least one major free agent this winter… but not Miami.

The current Marlins roster has holes. There are still players left to sign all over the MLB… but the Marlins are not in the rumors.

What are they waiting for? Good question.

I wonder to what extent the owner gave his baseball president the OK to put money into the club. I have a feeling not, at the moment.

The club, at the moment, is putting a lot of resources into management. We want to ensure that the development of young people goes well.

OK. It's good.

But at the same time, we must not forget that the club ultimately had the momentum to win. Let go of thinking about the future and look at the present, a little.
