No NBA without minutes for Guerschon Yabusele

After a hectic and difficult year 2023, between the fight against Partizan Belgrade, then the crash at the World Cup with the Blues and finally an injury to his left knee, Guerschon Yabusele is approaching the year 2024 with a clear objective: the Olympic Games. This is what he confided to our colleagues at The Team.

“When the World Cup ended, I think we were already planning on the Games. It's Paris ! In front of our families, our friends… It’s going to be incredible”he explains. “We are not going to play to participate. We want to win, that's our state of mind. But we can't say: we want gold, we're going to beat everyone. »

The 28-year-old's interior clearly announces it: this year, he wants “grab everything”. SO “three titles with Real, and if possible one with the Blues”he specifies.

And the NBA in all this? We remember that he spent two seasons in Boston between 2017 and 2019, with 74 matches and very few minutes on the clock. Is she still in his mind?

“I no longer want to live seasons waiting to find out if I’m going to play, like when I was in Boston or in China,” announces Guerschon Yabusele. “I want to return to the NBA, but I play for the best team in Europe and I win titles. Why leave that to polish a bench there? This is perhaps what young people do today, I have already given. This summer, the Blues will arrive directly after the end of the season so I will not wait for the NBA. I'm waiting for the Games. »
