Police hold no charges against Josh Giddey

Newport Beach police announced Wednesday that they have ended the investigation into Josh Giddey's alleged intimate relationship with an underage teenager. The Thunder leader will not be prosecuted in this case.

“After a diligent and comprehensive review, we have completed our investigation into information circulating on social media about Josh Giddey. Our investigators analyzed all the information available and were unable to corroborate any criminal wrongdoing on the part of Mr. Giddey,” can we read in the press release posted by the police on social networks.

On the Internet, an anonymous account (since deleted) claimed that the Australian Thunder leader had had an “inappropriate relationship” in 2022 with a teenage girl who was 15 or 16 years old at the time, while Giddey was for his part aged 19 or 20 years old. If the police opened an investigation in November, it is because the sexual majority is set at 18 years in California.

Note that the NBA is continuing its investigation, and has not yet communicated on the subject.
