Every year, at the same time, the name ofHarrison Barnes appears in transfer rumors. While the Kings have just lost a third game in a row, management is looking for the rare gem to enter the title race. We knew that there had been discussions with the Raptors for the arrival of Pascal Siakam, but Mark Stein now evokes interest from the Rockets.
In Houston, we are also looking for a way to take a step forward, and Ime Udoka would appreciate the profile of Barnes, a good defender and versatile in positions 3 and 4. A player capable of providing an outside threat.
What currency?
It is difficult to see the Rockets offering Dillon Brooks who has just arrived, and we only see Jabari Smith Jr. as a bargaining chip likely to interest the Kings. But we doubt that the young interior will be, in the short term, the solution to fill this void at position 4 in Sacramento.
On the Houston side, Barnes would complement Brooks and Alperen Sengun. Under contract until 2026 with the Kings, the former Warriors winger would bring his experience, but also “spacing” to leave more space for Sengun, who has become the first option in attack.
