Bad luck in Memphis: Ja Morant will not play again this season!

And if the Grizzlies should already draw a line under their season? Currently 13th in the Western Conference (13-23), four and a half games from the play-in, they will in any case have to cope until the end without their Super star, Ja Morant.

Absent from the last match in Phoenix on Sunday, due to pain in his right shoulder, he was finally announcement that the leader was injured in training on Saturday and that this initial subluxation was much more serious than imagined. Thus, the MRI revealed that he suffered from a torn labrum, located on the acromioclavicular joint.

A dark season to forget…

Clearly, Ja Morant will have to have an operation and, consequently, he will not be able to play again for the season because his absence will be counted in months. He should nevertheless be ready for the resumption of the 2024/25 financial year, next fall, while he must undoubtedly also forget about a possible participation in the Olympic Games with Team USA.

Enough to confirm that it was clearly not the year of the double All-Star, who had barely returned from his 25-game suspension and who saw himself overthrown by the West…

In just nine games played this season, the leader of Memphis averaged 25.1 points, 8.1 assists and 5.6 rebounds, 47% shooting (including 28% from 3-point range) and 81% shooting, for six wins and three losses. He joins Steven Adams in the infirmary, also out for the entire current campaign.
