National: Are the Dodgers really a better team than the Braves?

Since the start of the off-season, the Dodgers have been making a lot of noise in the MLB. Obviously, that's the kind of thing that can happen when a team deals with the best player in the world on the free agency market… but also gets its hands on two big starting pitchers in Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Tyler Glassnow.

That's different from some teams who haven't (or very little) spent on the autonomy market until now, let's say.

Obviously, with the trio of acquisitions who will join the core already in place formed by Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman and Will Smith (among others), it is difficult not to see the Dodgers as the big team to beat in the MLB in 2024…

But be careful, they are not alone in the world. Far from there.

In the National, we know that the Braves are always to be taken seriously. If Chris Sale, newly acquired in the last few days, were to return to his former level, it would be a big catch for a club which is already full of big players.

And Eduardo Perez already places the Braves ahead of the Dodgers for 2024.

And obviously, he is not the only one to do so: the state of forces of the MLB site also places the Braves in the very first place in the league at the moment.

It should also be noted that the reigning champions, the Texas Rangers, complete the podium… while you have to go down to ninth place to find the reigning finalists, the Arizona Diamondbacks.

And in fact, even if the Dodgers are stealing the show so far, it is true that they are not alone in the world at the moment. Ohtani will only be a designated hitter in 2024, Yamamoto has never pitched in the MLB before, Glasnow is constantly injured (and, in my opinion, very overvalued), and there are still questions about the Dodgers' depth.

There are some big names… but after the top-4 hitters, it's quiet… while for the Braves, the lineup is scary from first to ninth.

The Dodgers may be building a super teambut the Braves remain a big club and there are still question marks in Los Angeles.

And if the Diamondbacks demonstrated one thing in the fall, it's that a young, motivated team can play serious tricks on favorite teams, say the Brewers, Dodgers and Phillies.
