Rookies of the month | Double for Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Chet Holmgren

We take the same ones and start again for the NBA. As in October/November, these are in fact Jaime Jaquez Jr. And Chet Holmgren who were named “Rookies of the Month” for December, in the East and West respectively.

With his average of 16.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists, the Miami debutant was preferred to Bilal Coulibaly (Washington), Brandon Miller (Charlotte) and Craig Porter Jr (Cleveland).

In the West, it is therefore again Chet Holmgren who is honored by the league, ahead of Victor Wembanyama (San Antonio), Keyonte George (Utah), Scoot Henderson (Portland) and Derek Lively II (Dallas).

With his 18.1 points, 11.4 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 3.8 blocks on average, the Frenchman is ahead in terms of pure statistical production, while his Thunder counterpart is averaging 17.4 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 3.5 blocks in December. . However, Chet Holmgren is more skillful (55% including 39% at 3-points, compared to 45% including 33% at 3-points for “Wemby”), less expensive (1.5 turnovers compared to 2.8) and above all OKC wins.

Chet Holmgren won 10 of the 13 matches he played in December with the Thunder, while Victor Wembanyama only won 2 of the 10 matches in which he took part.
