Trevor Lawrence (Jaguars) absent against the Panthers

The former 2021 first draft pick will also miss his first career regular season game. 49 consecutive regular season starts that tied him with Patrick Mahomes for the second-longest current streak among quarterbacks.

Trevor Lawrence absent, CJ Beathard started

A substitute in Florida for 3 years, CJ Beathard came into play in 12 games during this period, completing 76.2% of his passes for 239 yards and a touchdown with an interception. Against Carolina, he will seek to put an end to the negative spiral that Doug Pederson's men are currently going through.
