What else but a tempting Lakers/Celtics as the main course of this Christmas Day ? A clash between the NBA's two best enemies, extremely rare at Christmas (the third after 1951 and 2008), which however was not the closest, since Boston quite quietly dominated Los Angeles (126-115), being in control almost the entire match.
Intractable therefore, the teammates of Kristaps Porzingis (28 points, 11 rebounds) and Jayson Tatum (25 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists) were not necessarily in top form, but it was still enough to take the measure of Anthony Davis (40 points, 13 rebounds) and others.
Proof that this Celtics formation, obviously leader of the entire league, still has quite a bit under its belt and that these Lakers are too limited to hope to compete with it. Especially if LeBron James is not in his plate like today…
TO REMEMBER
– Boston taught a lesson. We know, the Celtics certainly have the best five in the entire league and they have demonstrated it once again. With 108 of their 126 points scored by their holders, all at a minimum of 18 points, the C's indeed played collectively and this, on each side of the floor. Present and dominating in all areas of the game, Joe Mazzulla's men were almost not worried by the Lakers, except in a few sequences, and as soon as it was necessary to accelerate or (re)put a blow behind the head of their opponents, they did it on request and without panicking. Total control…
– Anthony Davis shemale. Author of one of his best outings of the season, “AD” did everything possible in the paint to respond to Jayson Tatum, Kristaps Porzingis, Derrick White, Jrue Holiday and Jaylen Brown. The problem is that he couldn't count on the usual support of LeBron James or Austin Reaves and, even if Taurean Prince did the job (very well), it wasn't enough to save the Lakers facing the Celtics armada.
