Kelly Oubre Jr. blames “conspiracy theorists”

Three weeks ago, in the middle of the weekend, we learned that Kelly Oubre. had been taken to hospital after being hit by a car. The Sixers winger suffered a broken rib, and various bruises to his hip and right leg, and three weeks later, the police still have not the slightest trace of the accident, nor of the driver…

“It was and still is a very traumatic situation for me and my family”, he explained on Monday, about the doubts expressed about the collision. “I wish my life wasn't like 'The Truman Show,' where everyone watches it and has their own opinion on my life. »

The investigation still ongoing

For the former Hornets, it is extremely hurtful to see his word called into question. Especially after such a shock.

“Many people have lacked consideration and sensitivity by focusing on video cameras,” he regrets. “So yeah, I'm really lucky that it wasn't worse than it is and that I can come back to work, smile, walk, talk and breathe. But there are all these conspiracy theorists… I listen to them in my free time and I watch them, but here we are talking about my life, it's serious! »

Recovered from his injuries, Kelly Oubre Jr. should return to the field on Wednesday in Washington, against his former team. In the meantime, he continues to help the authorities find the driver.

“I have spoken with police regarding this situation, and the investigation is ongoing. I have spoken to everyone I need to speak to about this, and I will not give any details on this matter as they are still looking into the situation. »
