Double NBA finalist (in 1995 and 2009) and stronghold of the Eastern Conference at several times since its creation, the Magic have never won ten matches in a row in the regular season.
The Florida franchise has always scored nine goals, three times: during the 1994/95, 2000/01 and 2010/11 seasons. By winning against the Wizards, Paolo Banchero and his gang have therefore equaled the franchise record, and they can therefore achieve something unique, and thus erase Dwight Howard and his teammates from the shelves.
“It’s quite unique. We know that a defeat will eventually happen, but we want to go as far as possible”explains the rookie of the year 2023 for ESPN. “It’s not easy to accumulate victories in this league”insists Moritz Wagner.
There are only two franchises that have never won at least ten games in a row: the Magic, but also the Pacers, also stuck with nine wins in a row. Jamahl Mosley's players, who started the season very well, will have this objective against Brooklyn this Saturday evening.
“It’s important for our group. But more importantly, for our fans and for the franchise,” judges the coach. “There is an energy, a dynamic, a buzz around this group and the players do the job by accepting all of that. They don't get fired up but achieve something special. »
