The Lakers take on water against Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

Uncertain but finally available for this meeting, played “back-to-back”, Anthony Davis (31 points, 14 rebounds) and LeBron James (21 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists) played their game, except that they could not avoid the Lakers defeat against Thunder (133-110) of a large Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (33 points, 7 assists).

A Thunder team obviously led by his All-Star point guardsupported in particular by Jalen Williams (21 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds) and above all valuable in helping OKAY to hold on when Los Angeles imposed its law at the start of the game.

Because then, the “Purple & Gold” broke down, Oklahoma City no longer took his foot off the accelerator and it ended with a quiet, and logical, success which kept the Thunder in the Top 3 in the West. In addition to allowing him to revive after his two defeats in a row.

TO REMEMBER

OKC accelerated from the second quarter. If the Lakers signed their first twelve good victories, with a lead of up to 14 points on the scoreboard, they then suffered the thunderbolt of the Thunder: 42-23 in the second quarter, then 36-28 in the third! A terrible boost from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s teammates, who then only had to manage their advantage until the end, punishing each defensive error from Los Angeles (26 points on a counterattack and 54 in the paint), without committing too much in return (53% skill, 86% on throws, 9 lost balls).

The roller coaster continues for Los Angeles. Victorious without forcing in Detroit the day before, the Lakers faced a completely different adversity that night and, during this “back-to-back”, they were not able to sign the success which would have brought them back into the Top 6 in the West. It’s not for lack of trying for Anthony Davis or LeBron James, but the Thunder were just too strong offensively and the “Purple & Gold” therefore remain stuck in 7th place, without managing to string together two victories in a row since soon two weeks.
