Players of the Week 12: Kyren Williams, triumphant return

The Rams’ best offensive performance this season does not go unnoticed. First this season for Kyren Williams, but also for… Patrick Mahomes.

Great architect of the Rams’ victory over the Cardinals, Kyren Williams (RB, Rams) wins the trophy for offensive player of the week in the NFC conference. A first for him. With 2 touchdowns, he is perhaps (finally) the runner expected by Sean McVay and the Rams to relieve the aerial attack. With his 92-yard pick six, Jessie Bates III (S, Falcons) proves that he is one of the very good signings of last offseason.

6, lucky number of kicker Jake Eliott (K, Eagles). Forcing an overtime with his 6th kick over 50 yards (59 yards), he won his 6th career special teams player of the week award.

In AFC, this may seem surprising. But, this is the first distinction for Patrick Mahomes (QB, Chiefs) in the offensive player of the week category. Very good against the Raiders, he wakes up the Chiefs attack.

3rd career defensive player of the week award for Josh Allen (EDGE, Jaguars). The defender put CJ Stroud through an ordeal. Finally, in a match that will not go down in the history books, the match between Titans and Panthers still produces a distinction. That of the special teams player of the week. Reward obtained by punter Ryan Stonehouse (P, Titans).

NFC Conference:

– Offensive: Kyren Williams (RB, Rams) – 204 yards, 2 touchdowns

– Defensive: Jessie Bates III (S, Falcons) – 12 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 1 interception returned for a 92-yard touchdown

– Special teams: Jake Elliott (K, Eagles) – 7 points, 4/4 in extra points. 59-yard field goal to force overtime

AFC Conference:

– Offensive: Patrick Mahomes (QB, Chiefs) – 298 yards, 2 touchdowns

– Defensive: Josh Allen (EDGE, Jaguars) – 5 tackles, 2.5 sacks

– Special teams: Ryan Stonehouse (P, Titans) – 7 punts averaging 53.7 yards. Including 1 from 71 yards and 5 in the opposing 20 yards
