This happens at the worst time for Cam Thomas… Big surprise at the start of the season with the Nets, with nearly 27 points per game in his first eight outings, the Brooklyn scoring guard twisted his left ankle Wednesday evening against the Clippers. It was in the third quarter, during an attempted drive in front of PJ Tucker, that his left foot got stuck and his ankle turned.
The examinations carried out Thursday confirmed the sprain suffered by the player and the need for him to be absent from the courts for two weeks before being re-examined. This is obviously a hard blow for the Nets as Cam Thomas had established himself as a major weapon in Jacque Vaughn’s system.
Author of big cards last season after the departures of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, he was even the top scorer, ahead of Mikal Bridges.
To replace him, the Nets coach should trust Lonnie Walker IV, even if the former Laker is not a real scorer. Since the start of the season, Jacque Vaughn has in any case continued to tinker with the absences of Nic Claxton, Cam Johnson, and therefore now Cam Thomas.
