An exceptional CJ Stroud, strong birds or the field goal of the year… Lessons from week 9 in the NFL
CJ Stroud superstar
Favorite for the Offensive Rookie of the Year trophy, we also explained that we were waiting for THE benchmark match for the young quarterback. You have to believe that CJ Stroud listened to us.
Sunday, the quarterback released his first career masterpiece: 470 passing yards (record for a rookie), 5 touchdowns (record for a rookie) and a magnificent drive for victory (75 yards in 40 seconds). An XXL performance which can only delight fans of the franchise for the future.
If the hardest part remains to be done for CJ Stroud, he certainly seems to be capable of it.
Baltimore new king in AFC
What if the Ravens were the new kings of the AFC? After a demonstration against the Lions, this time Baltimore exploded Seattle in all directions. Steamroller on the ground, effective in the air and formidable in defense. Harbaugh’s men have been impressively solid in recent weeks.
In an AFC where the best teams are still looking for each other, the Ravens seem to be the most sure of their strengths.
Arthur Smith is hot
The Falcons coach is in danger. His team does not seem to be progressing for this 3rd year under his command. The record of 4-5 and the inability of the Falcons to finish the matches suggest a new season around 7-8 victories.
Smith could also pay for the frustration surrounding the use of these first-round “gems.” Bijan Robin has less range than Tyler Allgeier, Kyle Pitts serves as a blocker for Jonu Smith… Yes, the players undoubtedly have their part in this situation, but failure to use the resources made available will end up annoying management.
Eagles fly to NFC East title
In the first duel of the season between Eagles and Cowboys, Philadelphia won a momentous victory. The men from Pennsylvania now have 3 more victories than the Cowboys, including 1 victory against them.
With 8 games still to play, the count is almost good for the Eagles. Given the Eagles’ ability to win even without being brilliant, it’s difficult to see them fall enough for Dallas to get back in front.
Kevin O’Connel, are we talking about it?
Without making any noise, Kevin O’Connel is establishing himself as one of the very good coaches in this league. After 4 defeats in 5 games and a certain lack of luck with the injuries to Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson, the Vikings could have been shattered.
However this Sunday, Minnesota returned to a positive record with 5 victories and 4 defeats. We also saw this Sunday, an offensive game plan adapted to Joshua Dobbs who arrived a few days before and images of O’Connel teaching the quarterback.
The Vikings coach has largely played his part in keeping the Vikings longship afloat.
Josh McDaniels was the problem
Liberated, delivered! If it’s hard to imagine Maxx Crosby or Davante Adams singing this chorus, the feeling of joy is beyond doubt in Las Vegas.
The Raiders players put out their best performance (yes, adversity…) of the season following the dismissal of Josh McDaniels. First game over 100 yards for Josh Jacobs, an Aidan O’Connell at the top, demonstrations of joy…
The Raiders had fun and that’s already it!
Miami is still stuck
Again for the Dolphins… Already worried by their results against teams with a positive record, Mike McDaniel’s men disappointed again in Germany.
Once again the Miami attack failed to score more than 20 points against one of the best teams in the league. While the end of the match and the start of the comeback can give fans hope, there is also room for more pessimism.
The kick of the month, of the year!
In this incredible match against the Buccaneers, the Texans also saw their kicker get injured. Houston then asked Dare Ogunbowale, runner (!), to take the kickoffs. Crazier, at 30-30, DeMecco Ryans asked his player to attempt the field goal to take the lead.
The rest is this season’s history!
