Shoulder surgery, Clayton Kershaw hopes to be back in summer 2024

For the past few off-seasons, there has been debate over whether Clayton Kershaw will sign with the Dodgers, the Rangers, or if he won’t sign a contract at all.

Each time, he chose to return to the Dodgers, where he always played.

This winter, we wondered if the temptation to join Corey Seager in Texas was going to be greater than ever now that his childhood team won the World Series.

But obviously, at the moment, the plan to sign somewhere is on ice in the short term. For what? Because the legendary left-hander underwent shoulder surgery.

The pitcher says he hopes to be back next summer, at some point, to play baseball again. Nothing is certain.

I don’t know if that means the Dodgers and Rangers (presumably he won’t sign in any other of MLB’s 28 markets) are going to wait and see what he decides to do.

But as long as he doesn’t want to sign, everyone will wait.

Because the pitcher has slowed down (that said, we say that his more difficult outings are undoubtedly linked to his shoulder), the clubs cannot build their game plan around him.

What I think is that both clubs, who have big aspirations in 2024, will be looking to get big starters for 2024. And if Kershaw wants to add along the way, all the better.

Is this how the Rangers could Ultimately sign him, or need him more than the Dodgers?

Note that half a season, at his age, could perhaps help him return to the top of his form. After all, it’s a long time, 162 matches…

To be continued in the coming months, therefore.

  • 130 players become free agents.
  • The children of Jon Daniels, the former Rangers boss, invited to the Rangers parade.
