Rangers need Max Scherzer to step up tomorrow night

Right now, the World Series is tied at 1-1. The Diamondbacks, via their great victory yesterday, managed to regain home field advantage.

There are three to five games left this season. There will be three in Arizona and the others, if necessary, will be presented in Texas.

The Diamondbacks, by winning yesterday, not only redeemed their heavy defeat from Friday night, but also regained momentum.

After all, we knew that with Zac Gallen against Nathan Eovaldi in match #1, the Rangers had their chances. They didn’t win thanks to their starter, but hey.

It was in the next two games that Arizona, according to logical projections, had to win to stay in the game. It was done yesterday… and it must be done tomorrow.

For what? Firstly because a club which wins the third match of an equal series has almost seven chances out of ten of winning the series.

But also, there is the fact that the club must take advantage of the fact that Brandon Pfaadt, even if he is a rookie, is good and must save the next generation for the bullpen day scheduled for Tuesday.

And he must do it against Max Scherzer.

On paper, it looks like an order that won’t exactly be easy. That said, you know as well as I do that Scherzer has not been a shadow of himself since his return to the game.

Against the Astros, he didn’t do well.

But since Texas will also have a bullpen day Tuesday and losing match #3 would be hard for the club, it is clear that the Rangers must hope for a good performance from him.

We are not asking him for a quality start… but he must not be destroyed.
