Draymond Green still uncertain for the recovery

The regular season begins Tuesday evening, in a few hours, and will Draymond Green be able to suit up against the Suns? This is the question that has agitated the Warriors for several days.

The midfielder injured his left ankle at the end of September and has since started a race against time. Even if we know that Steve Kerr is in no hurry and prefers to have him in the long term than in the first matches.

Draymond Green is getting closer to a return since he trained in five-on-five this Sunday, after playing three-on-three at the start of last week.

“It’s good for him and for us,” reacted the Warriors coach for the Mercury News. “He adds a touch of competitiveness to our team, with his game intelligence. His presence during exercises, during training, is beneficial. But he needs to work, that’s for sure. »

The four-time NBA champion missed his team’s entire preseason and, as a result, he is logically short of rhythm and remains uncertain to face Kevin Durant and his gang on Tuesday night.

“Sometimes we communicate well, sometimes not quite and it’s obvious that I can help in this area,” he analyzes, before giving the keys to defense to Kevon Looney, while waiting for his return. “I want to say it publicly because I know he can do it. He knows what needs to be done and it will be important for us to hear his voice more often. Because we feel good when we hear his big voice. »
