Tonight, Nate Eovaldi’s Rangers were visiting Houston to face Framber Valdez’s Astros in Game #6 of the series.
Rangers had to win the game to survive. And for that, they had to do it against the boos of the Houston fans. Adolis Garcia, with what happened in the last match, got a taste of it.
That said, for the first time in the series, the Houston Astros took the lead first in the game. In the first, Jose Altuve was pushed to the plate by… Yordan Alvarez.
14 RBIs in 10 games? Yes, the power hitter loves the month of October.
In the next half inning, on Framber Valdez’s first pitch of the second inning, a solo homer was hit.
Mitch Garver therefore tied the game with a single swing.
Subsequently, in the middle of the match, Jonah Heim slammed a two-run homer against Valdez, who did not dominate this evening. He used his teammate Garver’s technique: taking advantage of the small fence on the right.
Except at Yankee Stadium, that ball wouldn’t have been a home run anywhere else. #336Feet
In the fifth, Martin Maldonado was hit by the ball… but since he is a nasty hitter, it didn’t create controversy like it did in Friday night’s game.
The Astros then threatened in the sixth inning against Eovaldi. A sacrifice fly from Mauricio Dubon pushed Yordan Alvarez to the plate. The score was 3-2 for Texas.
Eovaldi, who had 19 outs during the game, did better than his Houston counterpart, who pitched for five innings. He had a good outing.
In the eighth round, Bryan Abreu (who appealed his suspension after hitting Adolis Garcia) faced this same Garcia, which reminds us of Friday’s rififi.
After being afraid to face him while throwing outside, Abreu got the upper hand via a strikeout. Garcia really didn’t have a good game in his body at that time.
But that doesn’t matter, Mitch Garver added to his team’s lead by producing his team’s fourth point. His double pushed Evan Carter to the plate.
The Astros threatened in the eighth by putting guys on the trails, which forced Bruce Bochy to call for five outs from his trusted reliever, Jose Leclerc.
In the eighth, despite the goals being filled, Leclerc escaped.
In the ninth, the Astros loaded the bases and Corey Seager was hit by a ball. So he ensured that the Rangers scored a fifth point, extending the lead to three.
Adolis Garcia, however, confirmed the Rangers’ victory with a grand slam. He forgot his four Ks in the match and it was suddenly 9-2.
The Rangers will therefore play tomorrow at 8 p.m. The winner of the game will therefore have the right to play in the World Series this year.
Max Scherzer and Cristian Javier should be automatically. Will the trend of winning on the road continue tomorrow in a game presented in Houston?
