Utah validates Kris Dunn’s contract

Among the great stories from last season, Kris Dunn has just seen his contract guaranteed by the Jazz.

This is because the 5th choice of the 2016 Draft was the “comeback” of the last campaign, averaging 13.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.6 assists during his 22 games with Utah, with a 54% shooting success rate. !

The 29-year-old player had, however, been in distress for several seasons, having never managed to validate his place in the Draft with the Wolves, the Bulls then the Hawks or even the Blazers.

Forced to return to the G-League, Kris Dunn ended up being relaunched by the Jazz, via several 10-day contracts. Contracts which he made good use of, quickly establishing himself in Will Hardy’s troupe.

However, his $2.6 million lease for the upcoming season was not guaranteed until now, and Kris Dunn could therefore be pushed out at any time. But building on the momentum of his last campaign, he had a solid preseason, including a final game with 12 points (5/7 on shots), 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 interceptions against the Kings. Enough to validate his return to the Great League for good.
