The Diamondbacks want to find their identity for Game #3

If you ever have a new job, a new girlfriend or a new professional challenge, you might receive the following advice: to be yourself.

This may seem trivial at first glance, but in reality it is important.

Normally, if you are entitled to a new challenge, it is because the recipe you have works. Why change it?

This advice, as I said, may seem banal or obvious. That said, it is important to remember this because, when things are not going well, you have to go back to basics.

And the Diamondbacks know that.

Right now, Arizona’s players aren’t breaking anything against the Phillies, who have taken control of the National League Championship Series in clear fashion.

The DBacks must therefore find a way to get back to the surface.

And as Bob Nightengale mentions, it is by playing according to their style of play that the Diamondbacks will be able to get back to the surface.

Arizona is the club of chaos. This is a club that likes to steal bases and plays aggressively.

This is exactly what we didn’t see in the first games in Pennsylvania. The club did not steal and played conservatively.

But that’s not what made the club successful in 2023. What made it possible to qualify was the fact that the DBacks were stealing goals like crazy and were ahead of the match.

If they find this, it will help them.

Remember that if the club loses this evening, it will not be able to count on its best pitcher (Zac Gallen) for match #4. It will be a bullpen day.

So we have to win tonight. Clearly.
