Rob Thomson refuses to say if Rhys Hoskins will play against the Diamondbacks

As you may know, there is a chance that Rhys Hoskins’ season may not be over, despite his knee injury.

Remember that he had surgery during training camp.

Everyone had assumed that the power hitter would only be able to return in 2024, but recently we learned that there was a chance of seeing him play again in 2023.

It was thought that it was only for the World Series, but according to manager Rob Thomson, it seems that there is a chance to see him play against Arizona.

Currently, the manager refuses to say if Hoskins will be in the championship series lineup, but the player is improving.

He does everything on the field… except take wheelies.

If he comes back, it won’t be as a first baseman anyway. Right now, Bryce Harper is there and he’s doing a good job.

I don’t think Hoskins has the stamina in his knee to play defense… and since Kyle Schwarber is the DH, he doesn’t have a spot either.

If he returns, expect it to be as a bench player to give his club a good option without mortgaging his knee.

Remember that if he is not added to the championship series roster, that will have to wait until the World Series… unless there is an injury.

The club could also add him now without using him in the first match if they run out of time to enter the match, for example.

Imagine Hoskins with Harper, Schwarber, Turner, Realmuto, Bohm, Stott and Castellanos. That would be powerful, wouldn’t it?
