Kemba Walker sees the end of the tunnel

The beginnings of Kemba Walker with Monaco are imminent! In any case, this is what the leader of the Roca Team promised, who therefore returned to training this week, an essential first step before hoping to see the courts again.

“I will be back very soon”hashe said in a published video on the networks of the princely club. “My first training went well. I’m happy, enthusiastic, to be back with the guys. Because it’s been a long time, the guys are trying hard to integrate me. I’m still learning the game philosophy, the systems, that kind of thing. Everything has gone well so far.”

Big competition at the back

The 33-year-old leader is taking his time to get back to his best level and be able to compete with strong competition in the back positions within the Monegasque squad. For the moment, his process leading him to return to the field is obviously going for the best.

“The guys are really taking their time with me, just helping me get situated and fit into the team for every system, every action. I continue to improve day by day. I feel good, it’s been a lot of work to get to this point. Now it’s just maintaining that. I still have a lot of work to do. But I feel good. It was a goal to take my time, work harder and improve every day, which I did. The coaches here really put together a great program for me (…). It was hard, but I had to do it. The next step now is to return to the field, to find the place that I love the most.”

While the Monegasques will play their first match of the Euroleague season at home this evening against the Virtus Bologna of Marco Belinelli, Isaia Cordinier and Tornike Shengelia, Kemba Walker also confided his thirst to succeed under his new colors.

” I like challenges. I love competing at the highest level. For me, basketball is basketball. I just have to adapt to a new team. I look forward to the next chapter of my career”he continued on the Euroleague website. “I’m excited to be a part of this team and to be able to do what I can. I just want to win, that’s all. I want to continue to contribute to the success of this club.”
