Josh Green hopes to be able to quickly extend in Dallas

Jason Kidd had promised him a “big check” but, for the moment, Josh Green still waiting…

Eligible for a contract extension in Dallas, the Australian has discussed it with the leaders of the Mavericks but, for the moment, the two camps have not managed to find common ground.

“At the end of the day, I know I want to be here”, explains the 22-year-old guard. “I’m going to work like I’m going to be here for a long time. I want to be able to win in Dallas, I want to be in Dallas. »

Josh Green can sign his contract extension until October 23, the day before the start of the regular season.

If nothing materializes, he will become a “protected free agent” next summer, which means that Dallas will always have its destiny in hand since the club will be able to align with any outside offer.

“Whatever they decide is their decision, but at the end of the day I have the same goal every day and that is to be the best teammate and best player I can be for the team.” concludes the player.

Perhaps the Mavericks are waiting to see if Josh Green confirms his offensive progress to determine his value. Although it’s always a risky option, as the Jalen Brunson episode in Texas illustrated…
