Power Ranking S2: the Cowboys eject the Chiefs from the podium

Wednesday on DNA of Sports is Power Ranking! 3, 2, 1, Go!

It’s time to take stock of the season. Here is our ranking. This hierarchy is not only based on the number of successes, but also on current form. If two teams are close and haven’t played each other recently, one wonders which one would win if the match were played today. Beating the strongest is not going to propel you to the top in the blink of an eye. Losing to one of the dunces won’t plunge you into the abyss either. One can win and tumble, bow and climb.

This is the merciless law of Power Ranking…

1. San Francisco 49ers (2-0)

The 49ers still lead the way with their stars.

Week 3: reception of the Giants.

2. Dallas Cowboys (2-0) +2

+60 in 2 games, Mike McCarthy’s players started the season flat-footed.

Week 3: trip to the Cardinals.

3. Philadelphia Eagles (2-0) -1

Without being exceptional, the Eagles are undefeated. Good or bad news ?

Week 3: trip to the Buccaneers.

4. Kansas City Chiefs (1-1) -1

With Travis Kelce and Chris Jones, this team is on another level. There is still work to be done, but the reigning champion is finding his rhythm.

Week 3: reception of Bears.

5. Miami Dolphins (2-0)

Tyreek Hill one week, Raheem Mostert the next… Mike McDaniel has several aces up his sleeve and a lot of assets on the team.

Week 3: Broncos reception.

6. Buffalo Bills (1-1) +2

Nothing better than the Raiders to let off steam.

Week 3: trip to the Commanders.

7. Baltimore Ravens (2-0) +2

6 players with 3 or more receptions and 178 rushing yards for the Ravens. Did you say full attack?

Week 3: reception of Colts.

8. Jacksonville Jaguars (1-1) -2

For the second week in a row, the Jaguars were 3/12 on third downs. Against the Chiefs, it’s fatal.

Week 3: reception of Texans.

9. Seattle Seahawks (1-1) +5

We found last year’s Seahawks at the best of times.

Week 3: reception of Panthers.

10. Detroit Lions (1-1) -3

Like last year, the Lions offered fireworks against Seattle. Like last year, Detroit lost. They must not regret it at the end of the season… like last year.

Week 3: reception of Falcons.

11. New Orleans Saints (2-0) +4

The Saints conceded only one touchdown in 120 minutes of play.

Week 3: trip to the Packers.

12. Cincinnati Bengals (0-2) -2

No victory and an uncertain star quarterback… the start of the season looks like a nightmare for the Bengals.

Week 3: reception of Rams.

13. Atlanta Falcons (2-0) +4

Desmond Ridder has just scored his fourth consecutive victory as a starter.

Week 3: trip to the Lions.

14. Cleveland Browns (1-1) -3

With Nick Chubb’s injury, the pressure is now on Deshaun Watson’s shoulders (and arm) to carry this attack.

Week 3: reception of Titans.

15. Green Bay Packers (1-1) -2

We suspected that the Love cruise would not be a long, quiet river.

Week 3: reception of Saints.

16. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-0) +3

The Florida franchise is clearly the biggest surprise of this start to the season.

Week 3: reception of Eagles.

17. Los Angeles Chargers (0-2) -5

At least we can now bring out our favorite line about the Chargers: “This team is better than its record indicates.” »

Week 3: trip to the Vikings.

18. Pittsburgh Steelers (1-1) +2

Once again, it was defense that made this team win.

Week 3: trip to the Raiders.

19. New York Jets (1-1) -3

The return of starting Zach Wilson against the Cowboys defense? Not a gift.

Week 3: reception of Patriots.

20. Washington Commanders (2-0) +5

For the first time in 12 years, the franchise from the federal capital begins a season with two victories.

Week 3: reception of Bills.

21. Tennessee Titans (1-1) +5

The Titans want at all costs to stay in contact with the Jaguars in this AFC South.

Week 3: trip to the Browns.

22. New York Giants (1-1) +5

The Giants came back from a 21-point deficit. It’s good. But New York won’t play the Cardinals every week.

Week 3: trip to the 49ers.

23. Minnesota Vikings (0-2) -5

This year, it seems like the coin is falling on the wrong side every time for the Vikings. Quite the opposite of last year.

Week 3: reception of Chargers.

24. Los Angeles Rams (1-1) -2

With Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford at this level, the Rams can pose problems for a lot of teams this season.

Week 3: trip to the Bengals.

25. New England Patriots (0-2) -4

As expected, the Patriots are no longer playing in the big leagues.

Week 3: trip to the Jets.

26. Las Vegas Raiders (1-1) -2

So the first match was just a mirage in the Nevada desert?

Week 3: reception of Steelers.

27. Indianapolis Colts (1-1) +1

First victory and first concerns for Anthony Richardson on the Indiana side. The young quarterback will have to learn to protect himself.

Week 3: trip to the Ravens.

28. Denver Broncos (0-2) -5

With two home defeats, things already smell bad for the Broncos.

Week 3: trip to the Dolphins.

29. Houston Texans (0-2)

DeMeco Ryans absolutely needs to find a way to protect his diamond CJ Stroud.

Week 3: trip to the Jaguars.

30. Carolina Panthers (0-2)

With 2 touchdowns in 23 drives, Bryce Young still has work to do.

Week 3: trip to the Seahawks.

31. Chicago Bears (0-2)

Justin Fields is not progressing and that is worrying.

Week 3: trip to the Chiefs.

32. Arizona Cardinals (0-2)

The Cardinals played to scare each other. They were up to 21 points ahead in the third quarter before putting everything back in order and losing this game as they had to to continue targeting the first choice of the draft.

Week 3: reception of Cowboys.
