The Lakers’ free agency is close to perfection, and this is confirmed with the announcement of the contract extension of Jared Vanderbilt. Arriving during the season, the former Wolves and Jazz interior signed a four-year, $48 million contract, The Athletic specifies that this contract is fully guaranteed, with a “player option” before the 4th season. This extension will begin at the end of the next season.
Upon his arrival in February, Vanderbilt immediately stood out for his slaughter and his complementarity with Anthony Davis. A duty player, ideal alongside big attackers with D’Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, LeBron James and therefore Davis.

With this contract extension, the Lakers lock in the future of its youngest talents since Rui Hachimura, D’Angelo Russell and Austin Reaves had already extended at the beginning of the summer.
For Vanderbilt, the competition will be tougher than last season since the Lakers plan to play Davis in 4 following the arrivals of Christian Wood and Jaxson Hayes.
