It’s time to take stock of the season. Here is our ranking. This hierarchy is not only based on the number of successes, but also on current form. If two teams are close and haven’t played each other recently, one wonders which one would win if the match were played today. Beating the strongest is not going to propel you to the top in the blink of an eye. Losing to one of the dunces won’t plunge you into the abyss either. One can win and tumble, bow and climb.

1. San Francisco 49ers (1-0) +3
Excellent on both sides of the ball, the 49ers swept the Steelers and struck a big blow. Among the announced suitors, the gold prospectors are the only ones to have assured and reassured.
Week 2: Trip to the Rams
2. Philadelphia Eagles (1-0)
The Super Bowl hangover is not for Philly. Not exactly flamboyant but winning.
Week 2: Reception of the Vikings
3. Kansas City Chiefs (0-1) -2
Soapy hands make the Champion slip. More worrying, Travis Kelce seems to be the tree that hides a very sparse forest of receivers.
Week 2: Travel to Jacksonville
4. Dallas Cowboys (1-0) +2
A tennis score inflicted on a rival lays the foundations for a season. Perfect defense, effective ground game, valuable special teams, if the aerial game takes off, the Cowboys could become a scarecrow in the NFC.
Week 2: Jets reception
5. Miami Dolphins (1-0) +3
A terrifying attack, led by an unplayable receiver, a defense with a big margin for improvement, a victory at a rival for qualification in the playoffs, the sun is shining in Florida.
Week 2: Trip to New England
6. Jacksonville Jaguars (0-1) +6
Calvin Ridley as the missing link in an attack on the rise, the Jags, like their quarterback, are sharpening their claws before challenging Kansas City.
Week 2: Reception of the Chiefs
7. Detroit Lions (1-0) +6
A remarkable victory for the defending champion, youth and talent, the hype of the off-season is not ready to die down.
Week 2: Homecoming of the Seahawks
8. Buffalo Bills (0-1) -3
Josh Allen in rookie mode, and the entire Bills mafia is looking grim. Rebound expected immediately so as not to confirm doubts.
Week 2: Reception of the Raiders
9. Baltimore Ravens (1-0)
Already weighed down by injuries, the Ravens won without straining their talent. But at this rate, the team will need to complete their EFL squad before mid-season.
Week 2: Travel to Cincinnati
10. Cincinnati Bengals (0-1) -7
When Joe Burrow is diminished it shows. Cataclysmic performance from the Bengals quarterback who collapsed against the Browns.
Week 2: Home of the Ravens
11. Cleveland Browns (1-0) +4
Despite DeShaun Watson still far from his old level, the defense, which we knew was full of talent, subdued the tigers and finally held its benchmark match. Something to build on for the future.
Week 2: Trip to Pittsburgh
12. Los Angeles Chargers (0-1) -2
Without defense, attack is nothing. If only the coach was a defensive specialist.
Week 2: Trip to Tennessee
13. Green Bay Packers (1-0) +8
Clean, simple, efficient, Jordan Love ideally begins his story as a starter, well helped by a serious defense. Hopes are in order. To be confirmed against a higher level team.
Week 2: Travel to Atlanta
14. Seattle Seahawks (0-1) -3
Simple accident or return to earth for Geno Smith and his team? The Seattle quarterback had donned the costume of his years at the Jets. On the other side of the ball, no more satisfaction.
Week 2: Trip to Detroit
15. New Orleans Saints (1-0) +3
Successful first for Derek Carr in his new colors despite a break-in still in progress. Everything is not perfect, far from it, but a Michael Thomas who plays, a defense which creates turnovers… Things that we were no longer used to seeing in Louisiana.
Week 2: Trip to Carolina
16. New York Jets (1-0) -9
Are you missing just one being and everything is depopulated? Aaron Rodgers will only have spent 75 seconds in his new colors. Without his quadruple MVP, the Jets will have to rely on Zach Wilson to improve the excellent defense. For better and especially for worse.
Week 2: Travel to Dallas
17. Atlanta Falcons (1-0) +5
If the runners shone, the receivers were forgotten. An effective game plan but which presents some limits and which above all wastes great potential (and large draft investments).
Week 2: Reception of the Packers
18. Minnesota Vikings (0-1) -4
Last year, Minnesota won close games. If the coin lands on the other side this year, the Vikings will fall into line.
Week 2: Travel to Philadelphia
19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-0) +8
Who needs Tom Brady?
Week 2: Bears reception
20. Pittsburgh Steelers (0-1) -3
Too much adversity, or real shortcomings? The Pittsburgh attack, in difficulty in all sectors, did not reassure, far from it. Quarterback or coordinator problem, what is certain is that it is criminal to spoil TJ Watt’s defensive work to this extent.
Week 2: Home of the Browns
21. New England Patriots (0-1) +4
When Bill O’Brien doesn’t sell out his players but trains them, things don’t go too bad. The proof with Mac Jones transformed. The standard definition of encouraging defeat.
Week 2: Home of the Dolphins
22. Los Angeles Rams (1-0) +7
Matt Stafford and Sean McVay recalled fond memories of the league. There is always talent among rams. No question of just showing presence.
Week 2: Homecoming of the 49ers
23. Denver Broncos (0-1) -3
The aftereffects of 2023 are still there. Despite an encouraging start, Russell Wilson remains stuck well below 200 yards against a defense known to be weak and was not helped by a limited ground game. Sean Payton’s work has only just begun but it promises to be long and complicated.
Week 2: Receipt of Commanders
24. Las Vegas Raiders (1-0) +1
Better than expected, the Raiders leave with victory and hopes. Jimmy Garoppolo in his role as “game manager” found his targets very well. With Josh Jacobs in better shape, the Vegas attack could be difficult to maneuver.
Week 2: Trip to Buffalo
25. Washington Commanders (1-0) +1
Sluggish and difficult winner of Cardinals promised to limbo, Washington did not really reassure. With Sam Howell still learning, the risk of copying and pasting from the 3 previous seasons is there. Eric Bieniemy’s contribution to the attack must be more visible.
Week 2: Travel to Denver
26. Tennessee Titans (0-1) -7
The twilight of Ryan Tannehill a prelude to the advent of Will Levis? The team will certainly not lose much by trying as their veteran quarterback seemed off base.
Week 2: Home of the Chargers
27. New York Giants (0-1) -10
Terrible return to earth for the Giants and Daniel Jones. Slapped, spanked, humiliated, the bruises seem to have taken a terrible step backwards. The recovery will involve a trip to the Cardinals. Fortunately.
Week 2: Travel to Arizona
28. Indianapolis Colts (0-1) +3
An honest first for Anthony Richardson. Too bad he doesn’t have an All Pro rider in reserve to take the pressure off him.
Week 2: Travel to Houston
29. Houston Texans (0-1) +1
No makeup, but no mistake for CJ Stroud, and that’s already not bad considering the cast around him, including a non-existent running game. This attack comes from very (very) far away.
Week 2: Reception of the Colts
30. Carolina Panthers (0-1) -2
The hard learning of the rookie. Avoidable errors, forced play, Bryce Young did not make an impression for his first. In his defense, he was not particularly helped by his receivers. Like Houston, everything is to do in Charlotte.

31. Chicago Bears (0-1) -8
Weak in defense, limited in attack, same recipe, same result.
Week 2: Trip to Tampa Bay
32. Arizona Cardinals (0-1)
A defense better than expected, but a mediocre quarterback to ruin everything. If we’re not looking for the 1st pick, it looks like it.
Week 2: Reception of the Giants
