Pittsburgh Steelers: Cameron Hayward will be unavailable for several weeks

Hard blow for the iron men.

Pittsburgh’s Iron Curtain has just taken a serious blow.

Coming out of the match against San Francisco, Cameron Heyward seems seriously injured. According to NFL Network, the defensive tackle was hit in the groin. A placement on the injured list is likely, which would make him unavailable for at least four weeks. Worse still, Heyward is reportedly considering an operation, which would only lengthen his recovery.

Pittsburgh thus lost the anchor of its defensive line, and a leader of its squad, from the start of the competition.

In 2022, Hayward started all 17 games. He recorded 74 tackles, 10.5 sacks, 4 passes defended, and 1 forced fumble for 1 covered. Pro Football Focus had him ranked in the top 5 interior linemen in the league.
