Aaron Judge believes Aaron Boone is the man for the job

Despite his good record and his appearances in the American League Championship Series, many, including me, agree that New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone is not the man for the job so that the Bombardiers finally won their first World Series since 2009.

At the end of the season, Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner will decide whether he will keep Boonie as manager or whether he will override general manager Brian Cashman and fire the skipper after a very disappointing year.

For the moment, everything suggests that he will unfortunately be back in the Bronx. And the opinion of captain Aaron Judge could confirm the inevitable.

The two men are close, so when asked whether Boone was the right manager for the Yankees, we can guess Judge’s answer.

I’ve been with Boonie since 2018. He’s the good guy. He has been there for us in good times and bad. The guy shows up and supports his players. You probably can’t tell the number of times he was thrown out of games to save us.

Maybe that’s the problem. Boone is very close to his players, including Judge, which means that he will never, ever expose them, even if it is fully deserved.

Furthermore, I doubt that he will be able to exercise the necessary leadership which the Yankees sorely lack, among other things because of the proximity he can have with his flock.

Add to that the fact that a host of young people have joined the New York team and that Boone is recognized as a manager who loves and protects his veterans and you have the perfect cocktail for possible failure.

But Judge persists and signs.

He’s a great person for that. There are 28 guys here supporting him.

We already knew Cashman would defend Boone, and now we can add the captain to the equation.

Nothing will therefore be able to prevent the manager from returning to his slippers in 2024…
