Chargers – Saints (17-22): New Orleans rookies respond

Los Angeles Chargers-New Orleans Saints: 17-22

The two teams had decided to leave their holders to rest this Sunday. The game was an opportunity to see Jameis Winston again at work (13/21, 169 yards), but it was mainly the rookies who accompanied him who made the evening interesting.

Kendre Miller, who will be busy during Alvin Kamara’s suspension, showed up with a 27-yard reception, to which he added a 7-yard run for a touchdown on the next play.

In the air, Winston and Jake Haener (11/17, 118 yards) were able to count on Shaquan Davis (3 rec, 63 yards) and Jontre Kirklin (3 rec, 59 yards).

The downside of the evening for the Saints is a cruel lack of discipline, with 14 penalties for 141 yards.

The Chargers left Easton Stick (21/41, 233 yards, 2 int) in control throughout the game. It was not glorious in the air. The substitute quarterback distinguished himself above all by being the best runner on his team, with 63 lengths and 2 touchdowns in 7 balls carried.
