A “seven feet” at the Warriors camp

Leading rebounder in the G-League with 13.5 catches per game, Jayce Johnson landed an invite to Warriors camp. He will not be out of place since he was playing the season at the Santa Cruz Warriors, and The Athletic announces that he will aim to land one of the two “two-way contracts” still available.

Aged 26, Johnson is a real pivot, old-fashioned, and it’s a profile you don’t find in Golden State. He will also be the only “seven feet” (2m13) in the 2022 NBA champions camp, in a workforce where the tallest player is currently Dario Saric with his 2m08. Trained in Utah and then Marquette, Johnson began his professional career in… Romania! This summer, he had 6 points and 7 rebounds in the summer league with the Warriors.

In Golden State, getting a “two-way contract” can open a big door to the NBA since last season, Ty Jerome and Anthony Lamb accumulated 107 matches!
