After signing Donte DiVincenzo, the Knicks are holding their second rookie and it is Duane Washington Jr. Signed in a “two-way contract” at the end of the season, Derek Fisher’s nephew had not worn the New York jersey, but he would have convinced the management since NBA.com reports that he has landed a contract.
The 23-year-old German-born playmaker made a name for himself with the Pacers in 2022 averaging 9.9 points for his rookie season, then at the Suns last season with 7.9 points per game. In 79 matches, he already has 10 starts, and no doubt he will recover the place of Derrick Rose, as 3rd leader behind Jalen Brunson and Immanuel Quickley.
Released from Ohio State in 2021, he also played in the G-League with 19.5 points, 4.4 assists and 3.4 rebounds with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.
