Cowboys: Trevon Diggs extends for 5 years

The Cowboys are securing their cornerback and it’s for the long haul.

Two-time Pro-Bowler Trevon Diggs (CB) and the Dallas franchise have agreed to a five-year contract. According to NFL media, the new contract is for $97 million. Diggs will even be able to hope for 104 million dollars thanks to the bonus bonuses.

At 24, he became one of the highest paid cornerbacks in the league. The Cowboys have said they want to reach an agreement with the player before the start of the season. Trevon Diggs was drafted in the second round in 2020. He had a four-year contract and could have been a free agent in 2024.

In 2022, Diggs has appeared in all 17 Dallas meetings. He made 59 tackles, three interceptions, a covered fumble and 14 passes defended.

There are now two important files for the Cowboys: receiver CeeDee Lamb and all-pro guard Zack Martin who did not show up at the start of training camp on Tuesday.
