Mike Batiste’s turn to join Darko Rajakovic in Toronto

The staff who will support Darko Rajakovic for his first season as head coach at the head of the Raptors is now known. The name of James Wade, who had to leave his position as GM coach of Chicago Sky (WNBA) had leaked this weekend. The Canadian franchise released a statement yesterday listing all the names of the newcomers who will accompany Jim Sann (returning for his eighth year at the Raptors) behind the bench.

With James Wade, we will thus find Pat Delany, Jama Mahlalela (back after two seasons at Golden State), Mike Batiste, Vin Bhavnani, Drew Jones and Ivo Simovic.

“This staff reflects the team we want to see on the pitch, with character, great energy and a lot of creativity. We have already begun the work that we know we need to do as we enter our first season together in Toronto. We are excited about the talent, the potential of our team and the work ahead of us.”, said Darko Rajakovic.

Pat Delany will coach the Summer League team. He arrives after two seasons in Washington. Before that, he had spent 12 years in Miami (2002-2014) before going through Charlotte (2014-2018) and Orlando (2018-2021).

As for mike batistea former well-known interior in Europe, notably for his ten years spent at Panathinaikos, he continues his tour of the NBA after having worked as an assistant for the Rockets last season.

The year before, he was in charge of player development at the Wizards. His adventure in the league began with the Nets in 2016-2017, before going through the Hornets (2017-2018) and the Magic (2018-2021).
