Five teams on Grant Williams

It is from Thursday that protected free agents will be able to sign an external offer. Among them, there is Grant Williams, the strong wing of the Celtics. Protected by a “qualifying offer”, he has not received any offer from the Celtics, but the latter still have control over his future, and they will now have 24 hours to align themselves with a proposal from a competing team.

A priori, according to The Athletic, the Celtics are not willing to let go without compensation, and we should move towards a “sign-and-trade”. Boston would be satisfied with a first round of Draft to let Williams slip away.

At the Knicks instead of Obi Toppin?

On the side of the interested teams, we always find the Mavericks, and The Athletic also quotes the Hawks, the Hornets, the Knicks and the Wizards. Atlanta has parted ways with John Collins, and there’s room for Grant Williams. At the Hornets, PJ Washington is in the same situation, and he is awaiting a contract extension.

In New York, we recruited Donte DiVincenzo and Grant Williams could replace Obi Toppin, transferred to the Pacers. Finally, at the Wizards, Kristaps Porzingis has not been replaced, and again Grant Williams could do some good.
