Nelson Cruz released by the Padres

The San Diego Padres announced a series of moves this afternoon. They eventually needed to make room on the 40-player roster.

And it was veteran Nelson Cruz who suffered. The Dominican has been designated for summons by his bosses with the aim of being released.

Even if he didn’t have a great season, the fact remains that he still had an average of .245, which is not bad.

However, he no longer has the power of yesteryear. He didn’t give enough (at a million dollars) to justify staying in town.

Will the GM of the Dominican Republic at the World Classic manage to find a job elsewhere? It’s a possibility.

Several people have brought up the name of the Toronto Blue Jays, a club that desperately needs a right-hitter right now.

However, I do not believe that it is the solution. The Blue Jays not only need a guy who can hit (not a guy who could hit), but adding a DH isn’t ideal.

I don’t know if another team will sign him. To be seen over the next few weeks… but at worst, he could be an option after the deadline?

  • Toronto hasn’t been so bad for a month.
  • 1000 hits for Carlos Correa.
  • Adam Wainwright is injured.
