Summer league: Yves Pons revives with the Hawks

Like every year, there will be around ten French people in the summer league, and on the Atlanta side, we have chosen to trust Yves Pons, seen two years ago with the Grizzlies. Back in France, at Asvel, the winner of the All-Star Game dunks competition had a very difficult season. Little used, he does not necessarily want to relive the same season as he explained to the Sports Daily.

“I have one year left on my contract. We’re talking to my agents. I have proposals on the right, on the left. We are studying what is the best option for me. he explained. “The NBA will always be my goal. I’m going to do the Summer League with Atlanta and we’ll see what happens. It’s a door to get into the NBA. »

Yves Pons disappointed by the lack of communication at Asvel

A good defender and very athletic, Pons regrets not having had an explanation from TJ Parker, the Villeurbanne coach. “I asked for a lot of explanations. I did not have the answers to my questions. Without going into too much detail, that’s all I could say, but there would be a lot to say about it…” he replies about the lack of communication.

A year ago, he refused an invitation to the Nets camp to favor a two-year contract with Asvel. This time, he says the Hawks “are interested, we had very good discussions with them. We’ll see what it’s going to be like this summer, hoping to get more than an invitation to the Summer League…”
